Understanding The Causes of Gout

Gout is a kind of arthritis that also scratches the joints. This condition is characterized by activities in the joint which can then bulge up because of too much formation from the uric acid. There are a lot of factors why gout can occur but it is usually caused by bad diet. Gout attacks will also preclude you from every dayactivities.

So what causes gout? The primary reason for gout is the build-up of uric inside your blood. As uric forms, it can crystallize at the most minute levels which are enough to be trapped in the joints. These crystals react differently from the joints which in turn causes discomfort and swelling.

Uric acid is usually a harmless waste product created when the body digests the food and releases the substances known as purines. Purines are natural to the body and they can also found in some foods and in alcohol. As the digestive tract processes purines, it turns them into uric acid.

During metabolism about two-thirds of uric acid is created by the kidneys while the rest is produced by the digestive system. The normal process should be that the uric acid usually dissolves in the blood and passes out of the body through the kidneys in the form of urine. If your body does not excrete uric acid normally, then crystals will form. This is the cause of gout.

One food that can cause gout is bacon. Bacon tastes so good. But it doesn’t follow that it is good for your health. Bacon contains high sodium saturated fat content which causes heart diseases.

High amounts of alcohol may also cause gout. Why? Alcohol can attack the kidneys which make it more difficult for them to remove the uric. Limit your alcohol intake as it makes it extra hard for your kidneys to process and remove uric acid from your system, which increases the chances of enzyme causing gout to spread around your system and to your joints.

Fish and other sea foods such as oysters, fish eggs, cod, anchovies, and trout contain high levels of purine that are responsible for creating uric acid during digestion.
